Time-varying community structures widely exist in real-world networks. However, the spreading dynamics on this kind of networks has not been fully studied, especially for social contagions. To study the effects of time-varying community structures on social contagions, we propose a non-Markovian social contagion process on time-varying community network which is based on the activity driven network model. Then, we develop a mean-field theory to analyse the proposed model. Through theoretical analyses and numerical simulations, we find that there are two hierarchical features in the behavior adoption processes. On the one hand, the behavior spreads easily in one of the communities, while in the other community quick spreading only occurs at a larger behavioral information transmission rate. On the other hand, the behavior adoption displays a hierarchical feature in spatial-temporal evolution pattern. Moreover, under different information transmission rates, the final behavior adoption proportion in the whole network versus the community strength shows three distinctive patterns: enhancing-only pattern, enhancing-depressing pattern, and depressing-only pattern. An optimal community strength that maximizes the final adoption proportion can be observed in a suitable transmission rate range. Finally, compared with the average activity potential, the number of edges generated by active nodes has more crucial influence on promoting/inhibiting the social contagions.

华东师范大学信息科学技术学院通信工程系博士生导师,2010年博士毕业于华东师范大学理论物理所,先后在新加坡、香港和韩国等地从事过多年的博士后研究工作。研究方向为非线性物理与复杂性科学、复杂系统与网络科学、网络信息传播动力学、在线社交网络数据分析和挖掘。近五年以来已主持国家自然科学面上项目、国家自然科学青年基金、博士后特别资助、国家自然科学青年基金(联合项目)、博士点新教师基金、博士后基金和中央高校基本科研业务费项目共计8项。已在Rep. Prog. Phys.,New J. Phys., Phys. Rev. E, Sci. Rep., Chaos, Europhys. Lett.等国际权威期刊发表论文75篇;其中60篇为第一或通讯作者,中科院JCR二区以上文章30余篇,共被Google Scholar引用1000余次。
