        Nanoscience and nanotechnology provide ability to design, synthesize and fabricate materials or objects with a structure at one dimension at least from the atom up to ~50 nm, which can have unique physicochemical properties for important applications.This seminar will present Dr. Li’s research work, in particular, the unique approaches to synthesize and characterize various nanostructuredorgainic and inorganic materials and their important applications in advanced bionanosystems such as clean energy systems in Li ion batteries, fuel cells, bio-/nanoelectronics, lab-on-a chip and nano-/organic electronics. Interesting mechanisms for nanostructure to enhance the performance of nanosystems will be discussed.The interdisciplinary research involvesscience and engineering in physics, chemistry, biology and materials and leads to significant fundamental insights and important applications.
